Mags Bookkeeping and Office Management Solutions was started in 2009 by Magali Lovell-Pascal. After working for several large blue chip companies over a number of years, Magali went to work for a small company in North Wales, it was here that she saw and recognised the need for many small companies to have somebody to do the bookkeeping and office work on an ‘as needed’ basis.
Mags decided to use her expertise to set up her own company offering bespoke bookkeeping and office management services to small and medium businesses in North Wales, particularly the Flintshire and Denbighshire areas.
In October 2012 Mag’s husband created a company offering business analysis specialising in data and management information. As the activities of the two companies started to cross paths, in 2013 they decided to merge them into one Limited company – Phil Lovell Associates Ltd. T/A Mags Bookkeeping & Office Management Solutions.
We can help
Every business, no matter how small, is required by law to ‘keep books’. This involves the recording of the financial transactions of the business, whether manually into ledgers or entering everything onto a computer software program e.g. excel or sage accounting but there is much more that a business needs to do.
To a small business owner who is juggling multiple roles on a daily basis, time is the most precious commodity. From covering multiple jobs roles and managing your employees to trying to stay ahead of the competition and make a profit….it’s an almost impossible task but that’s where we can help.
We will work closely with you to identify your specific needs, whether it is as simple as a couple of hours bookkeeping each month or as complex as setting up the most efficient and effective management of your office and staff, setting up your computerised accounts and providing training to your staff to use it.

Magali Lovell-Pascal (Mags) AICB PM.Dip
Mags can bring her expertise to your business focusing on all your office needs, being an associate member of ICB (The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers) specialising in computerised bookkeeping with over 15 years experience working in finance and office management for leading blue chip companies, Mags has extensive knowledge in all aspects of bookkeeping, both manual and computerised, including control accounts, sales and purchase ledgers, VAT and payroll. Mag’s office management experience provides her with excellent customer service skills and a methodical and organised approach to work.
Phil Lovell
Phil is ISEB (Information systems examination board) qualified and has over 20 years IT experience, the last 13 within the financial sector as a Business Analyst and Data Specialist. Phil can look at what you do and how you do it and suggest ways to ‘work smarter’ either by automating repetitive tasks or using tools differently to increase efficiency. If you need a contact or products database Phil can set these up for you, or maybe you want a website to start you off, then Phil can build that and, if you need it, find the best hosting package for your business from the many on offer.
Jo Doran
Jo Doran has many years of experience of working in an office environment. During this time she has inducted and managed new staff, undertaken risk assessments and health and safety responsibilities. More recently she has maintained a website, worked with suppliers and has experience of maintaining business ledgers and paying invoices. With these transferrable skills she has recently joined the team at Mags Bookkeeping and is currently upskilling by enrolling on appropriate bookkeeping training.
Why use a bookkeeper?
A bookkeeper can lower your overheads. Paying an accountant to do your bookeeping can be an expensive way to get the job done. We can work with your accountant allowing them to focus on any specialised work for you.
